Penelope - Fairfield

Penelope is a happy, energetic young dog with a joyful puppy personality. She loves people, other dogs, durable chew toys, play, and affection. With positive guidance, activity, and patience, she will be a wonderful companion.

Ideal Home

• Best suited to a home without young children due to her exuberant play style.
• Requires a securely fenced yard for safe running and play.
• An active, patient family is recommended.
• A young, energetic companion dog may be a good match after an introduction; older or laid-back dogs may find her enthusiasm overwhelming.
• She has been around a dog-friendly cat and does well with him.

Ongoing Health

• No known medical concerns.
• Spayed and microchipped.
• Current on rabies, distemper/parvo, Bordetella, and bivalent canine influenza vaccines.
• Heartworm test negative.
• On monthly heartworm and flea and tick prevention.

Training & Support

• Comfortable sleeping in her crate at night and resting there when her foster family is away.
• Still learning puppy manners, including trading items for higher-value rewards.
• Food and special chews should be carefully managed around other dogs while training continues.
• Does well for the groomer.

Application Details

• Adoption donation: $750.
• Start by contacting Penelope’s rescue through Wags to begin the adoption application process.
• Applications should include personal, veterinary, grooming, and applicable landlord references with contact information.
• A home visit is required before approval, and meetings with dogs are scheduled after an application is approved.
• Adopters should be prepared to move forward because dogs cannot be held.

Transportation

• Adopters should be prepared to pick Penelope up in Central Ohio.

Penelope is currently being fostered in the Cleveland area.
