Leia

Leia is about four years old and weighs twenty pounds. She's a sweet girl who came to us from a hoarding situation with fifteen other dogs. While she was the most reserved of her group, Leia has shown wonderful progress and is ready to find her forever home. With a little time and a lot of patience, she has learned to trust certain volunteers, allowing them to bathe and vaccinate her, walk her on a leash, and interact with her. She's still a bit timid around loud noises and new people, but her potential to blossom is immense!

Ideal Home

Leia would thrive in a calm and quiet environment. A securely fenced-in yard is a must, providing her a safe space to explore and build confidence. She'll need a patient owner who understands she'll need time to adjust to a new home and routine. Due to her timid nature, a home without young children would be ideal.

Ongoing Health

Leia has been given a Proheart shot and tested negative for heartworms. She is spayed and vaccinated.

Training & Support

Leia is working on house-training and will need continued guidance in her new home. She is still learning to be comfortable with new people and loud noises, so continued positive reinforcement and gentle introductions will be key to her success.
