At a glance
A little about them
Meet Willow, a spirited six-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier with a striking black-and-white coat. Weighing about 60 pounds, she loves long walks, hiking, splashing in water, and serious couch cuddles. She enjoys stuffies, filled bones, Whimzee chews, burrowing under the covers, and watching “The Great British Bake Off” when her family steps out.
Willow is an affectionate, high-energy companion who thrives on predictable routines, exercise, structure, positive reinforcement, and patience. Once she feels safe, she rewards her people with enthusiastic kisses, under-the-cover snuggles, outdoor adventures, and devoted companionship.
Ideal Home
Willow needs a child-free home with no plans for children. She has shown resource guarding around food when approached by a toddler and has snapped when a toddler put hands near her face, grazing the child’s mouth without causing injury. She has never shown this behavior toward an adult.
She is dog selective, so a home without other dogs is best, though she has warmed up successfully to familiar dogs. Her compatibility with cats is unknown. A fenced yard is preferred.
Willow can be anxious and sensitive with new people. On leash, she is reactive toward unfamiliar people and prefers approximately six feet of personal space. Treats help her build trust. Loud noises, thunderstorms, and fireworks may worry her.
Ongoing Health
Willow takes daily Trazodone for anxiety and Apoquel for allergies. She is spayed, microchipped, and vaccinated.
Training & Support
Willow is house-trained and has received formal training. She does best with a predictable routine, daily walks or hikes, positive reinforcement, exercise, and patient introductions.
