Rufus

Rufus is a sweet 8-month-old Labrador Retriever mix, currently weighing about 20 lbs. He was rescued as a tiny puppy after being found abandoned without food or water. Though he's now safe and fully vetted here in Puerto Rico, Rufus is a shy boy who will need time and patience to decompress and feel secure in his new home. He currently lives with 8 other dogs and would likely thrive with a canine companion to help him learn the ropes and feel more comfortable. Rescuing a dog like Rufus, who may be overlooked due to his shyness, is incredibly rewarding, and we promise he's worth the effort.

Ideal Home

Rufus would do best in a home with a fenced-in yard where he can feel safe and explore. He will need a family who understands he'll take time to adjust and build trust.

Ongoing Health

Rufus is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is ready for his forever home without any immediate health concerns.

Training & Support

As a shy dog, Rufus will need a patient and understanding family. Encouraging him to build confidence and providing a stable environment will be key to his success. He's used to living with other dogs and would benefit from a home with a canine friend.

Transporation

Rufus is currently in Puerto Rico and will be flown to Newark, NJ, once adopted. His adopter will need to travel to Newark to pick him up.
