Rufus is an adorable 8-month-old, 20-pound Labrador Retriever mix who was rescued from a difficult situation as a tiny puppy. He's come all the way to Puerto Rico and is now fully vetted and ready for his forever home. Rufus is a shy boy who will need time to decompress and feel safe, but with patience and love, he'll blossom into the best boy he can be. Saving a dog like Rufus, who might be overlooked due to his shyness, is an incredibly rewarding experience. He currently lives with a pack of eight other dogs and would do well in a home with a canine companion to help him feel comfortable and show him the ropes.
Ideal Home
Rufus needs a family with a fenced-in yard where he can feel secure and explore at his own pace.
Ongoing Health
Rufus is neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. He is up-to-date on all his medical needs.
Training & Support
As a shy boy, Rufus will need a patient and understanding family. He'll benefit from a home with another dog to help him gain confidence.

Transporation
Rufus is currently in Puerto Rico but will be flying to Newark, NJ, once adopted. His adopter will need to pick him up in Newark. He is well worth the trip!
